Man charged with child porn trafficking

MEDIA, Pa. - December 10, 2009

35-year-old David Michael Walton of Marcus Hook is charged with more than 150 counts of trafficking child pornography on the internet. Authorities describe what they found as vile and disgusting.

"This defendant possessed and made available for dissemination at least 50 separate files containing child pornography depicting children as young as 3 years of age," Delaware County District Attorney Mike Green said.

Green alleges Walton operated an exclusive peer to peer intranet ring for adults who want to share pornographic pictures and videos of children.

"Numerous vile and repulsive images and videos depicting young children engaged in sexual acts," Green said.

Walton allegedly established the closed intranet group which only allows file sharing access to certain people.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force accessed the illegal activity by using a tool that can detect searches which use specific keywords like those associated with child pornography.

"[It is a new tool] that allows us to observe the online activity of these peer to peer online exchanges in real time," Green said.

Authorities reportedly found a laptop with illegal photographs at David Michael Walton's residence when they arrested him Thursday night. He's being held on $500,000 cash bail as investigators try to trace others who enter the child porn site.
