Florida stomps Cincinnati in Sugar Bowl

NEW ORLEANS Tebow ran for 51 yards and another score. The big senior finished with 533 total yards - more than anyone in Bowl Championship Series history.

For Tebow and the fifth-ranked Gators, this certainly was the Big Easy. They built a 30-point halftime lead before previously undefeated Cincinnati looked like it knew what hit them.

Cincinnati, the fourth-ranked team in the AP rankings, seemed stunned by Florida's size, speed and versatility.

Both teams finished 13-and-1 and will be facing coaching changes.

Florida coach Urban Meyer says he is taking an indefinite leave of absence for health reasons. Brian Kelly, the Cincinnati coach who coached the Bearcats the first 12 games, already has taken over at Notre Dame. Jeff Quinn, their interim coach for this game, is heading to the University of Buffalo.

The coaching carousel didn't seem to affect Tebow and the Gators. They played like the team that won last year's national title and had a 22-game winning streak before losing to Alabama in the SEC championship.
