The three friends were shot execution-style and a fourth survived and testified last week. Prosecutors say at least two of the victims were slashed with a machete. The survivor is not being identified by The Associated Press because of sexual assault charges against two of the defendants.
Rodolfo Godinez is the first of six defendants charged in the killings to stand trial.
Jurors also saw photos of the victims taken at the crime scene.
