Ocean City hidden cam suspect expected to get probation

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- A man accused of placing hidden cameras in public restrooms along the Ocean City Boardwalk is expected to be released on probation under a plea agreement, court records show.

Harold Perkins, 38, pleaded guilty last month to lesser charges in connection with the case -- two counts of fourth-degree invasion of privacy.

Prosecutors said Perkins placed six hidden cameras in public bathrooms along the Ocean City boardwalk last year. The devices captured footage of multiple victims - including children - using the restrooms, investigators said.

Authorities said Perkins was arrested on June 20, 2025, after investigators used license plate reader technology to identify and locate him.

As part of the plea deal, more serious charges against Perkins were dropped.

Perkins is being held in the Cape May County Correctional Facility.

A judge is expected to sentence him to probation on June 29.
