Police say it happened inside the Benjamin Franklin School in the /*Morrisania*/ section Thursday morning.
The teacher, 54-year-old /*Pedro Molano*/, allegedly struck two students with the tip of a belt while breaking up a fight.
One student suffered scrapes on his face.
No one was seriously hurt.
He is charged with two counts of assault.
