Residents and visitors in coastal communities, and all visitors in Sussex County, are being told to evacuate Thursday night. Additional evacuations inland may be ordered on Friday.
The Governor and all emergency management officials say they are closely monitoring this dangerous storm and ask that the public take it very seriously, enact their household and business emergency plans and follow directions from state officials.
Those plans should include preparing for periods without travel or power, as well as securing objects around homes and businesses that may be affected by high winds.
