The News Journal reports the university has unveiled the JPMorgan Chase Innovation Center this semester where about 15 student interns are working beside two full-time bankers. Jennifer McDermott, one of the bankers from JPMorgan, says they hope the program becomes a pipeline for new talent.
The bank provided $5 million to launch the partnership with the Lerner College of Business and Economics.
Scott Malinowski, a computer engineering major, was one of the first interns hired. He is working on a project that provides nonprofits with technology assistance.
Malinowski is building a document management system for the archives of the new Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington.
