Camden man accused of robbing 5 banks in 1 month

EDGEWATER PARK, N.J. - December 11, 2013

Authorities say 22-year-old Brandon Dickerson of Camden was arrested in Edgewater Park on Tuesday.

He's accused of robbing banks in Burlington City, Mounty Holly, Maple Shade, Florence and Haddonfield from Nov. 9 through Monday.

Police say he took a total of more than $9,000.

Authorities say he never displayed a weapon but in some cases threatened to. In each case, the robber used a note to demand money from a teller.

However, investigators say Dickerson was tripped up by a rookie mistake.

"A print was lifted from a note in the Maple Shade job," said Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi.

In a court appearance on Wednesday afternoon, the prosecutor said Dickerson confessed to all five bank robberies.

"He indicated that it felt good for him to have money in his pocket. He was unemployed, and it felt good to have the money to buy things," said Asst. Prosecutor John Brennan.

Police now want to know if Dickerson had an accomplice.

"There may have been someone else involved, at least with the transport of this person to and from the bank. We're still developing that information," said Bernardi.

Bail has been set at $250,000 in Burlington County and $100,000 in Camden County.
