CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- It's a tale as old as time and right now the animated Disney classic is coming to life at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.

"Beauty and the Beast" tells the classic story of Belle, the princess who doesn't judge a book by its cover, and how she meets her beast. The cast also includes a cavalcade of singing, enchanted objects.

Action News had chance to see all of the costumes and props during an exclusive backstage tour.

From Belle's signature golden yellow dress, to the beef Ragu presented during "Be Our Guest". From beast's formal attire to Mrs. Potts teapot costume - we got to see how the film is fitted for the big stage.

Kevin Kulp is one of the cast members. The Moorestown, New Jersey native and former member of the Philadelphia Boys Choir says he's living the dream traveling with the show.

So what is it like having his family in the audience?

"It's amazing. I had 28 people here last night - family and friends. It's amazing to have them see what I have been doing on the road the last six months. It's been a dream," said Kulp.

"Beauty and the Beast" is in town until Sunday, February 21 at the Academy of Music.
