Bomb squad called to remove homemade fireworks from car in West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have called the bomb squad in to remove homemade fireworks from a car in West Philadelphia early Monday.

It happened around 4:15 a.m. along the 5900 block of Girard Avenue.

Detectives had a search warrant for the vehicle and were looking for a handgun when they made the discovery.

So far there have been no injuries reported.

No arrests have been made.
