Boy, 9, struck by car in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A 9-year-old boy is hospitalized after being struck by a car in West Philadelphia.

It happened shortly after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 58th and Filbert streets.

Details remain sketchy, but the child was rushed to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the striking vehicle remained at the scene.

Authorities are continuing to investigate.
