WASHINGTON D.C. (WPVI) -- A new report found that the transit department in Washington, D.C. spent about a half-million dollars to try and fix the same toilet over and over again.

This is no ordinary toilet, however.

It's supposed to be a self-cleaning toilet.

It was installed in 2003.

However, it never quite worked right, and was finally taken out of service earlier this year.
