Brookwood Community: Helping adults with disabilities find their purpose

BROOKSHIRE, Texas -- Like most things, The Brookwood Community grew out of necessity.
It was started in 1985 with just one "citizen". Now nearly 200 adults with disabilities live at, or participate in the day program, on the 475-acre campus in Brookshire, Texas.
Brookwood helps people with a wide range of disabilities by giving them meaningful jobs and the ability to support themselves. The Brookwood Community truly builds a sense of belonging for all who live there or visit.
