Masked burglar breaks into Port Richmond hair salon

PORT RICHMOND (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police detectives are looking for the man who broke into Marie's Hair Salon in Port Richmond.

This surveillance video was taken outside the salon along the 2500 block of East Clearfield street early Monday morning.

The masked suspect road a bicycle to the front door and tried, but failed, to tear down a surveillance camera.

He then broke the front glass door and ran inside the salon.

The thief went into a storage room armed with a crowbar and tried to knock out another surveillance camera.

He eventually gave up and turned his attention to a safe.

Authorities say he stole cash and hair products and took off.
