MORRO BAY, Calif. -- Several Burger King employees in California smashed up their workplace on Monday, leaving $35,000 in damage behind.
However, none of the employees are facing charges.
Police say someone tricked the employees into thinking their lives were in danger.
Detectives in Morro Bay say a man, pretending to be from the fire department, called the restaurant and told them there was a gas leak.
He then instructed the workers to smash all the windows to ventilate the building, and they did.
Police say whoever made the prank call could face felony charges.
