The Gold Cup is coming to Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Soccer fans from all over the world will be watching Philadelphia this summer for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

"We're very happy to announce that the final and third and fourth place will be in Philadelphia," CONCACAF General Secretary Enrique Sanz said Thursday.

This is just the latest major event to choose Philadelphia as its host city.

This fall, Pope Francis is expected to attend the World Meeting of Families here and the Democrats just recently chose Philadelphia to host the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

"Many, many people are recognizing our ability as a city to host large scale events and host them well," Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter said.

Getting the final weekend festivities was a collaboration between Philadelphia, Chester, the Eagles and the Union.

The third/fourth place game will take place at PPL Park on Saturday, July 25th.

The final game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday. July 26th.

Chester mayor John Linder says getting a major event like this in Chester is big for small businesses.

"Having an event like this in the city means you're going to have more people, obviously, and it's going to be good for the soccer business as well as the small, local business," Linder said.

This soccer game also means money in the pockets for many workers who depend on the stadium.

The winner of the CONCACAF Gold Cup will go on to compete in the FIFA Confederation Cup.
