RIDLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPVI) -- One person is dead following a crash that slowed traffic on the northbound Blue Route (I-476) in Delaware County.
It happened at 7:40 a.m. Thursday on the on-ramp from McDade Boulevard in Ridley Township.
Police say a vehicle left the road and went up an embankment.
Images from Chopper 6 HD shown on Action News at 7:55 a.m. showed a single vehicle adjacent to the ramp covered with a yellow tarp.
There was no immediate word what caused the driver to lose control.
That person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The on-ramp from McDade Boulevard to I-476 North was completely shut down as police investigated.
Traffic on the northbound Blue Route was backed up onto I-95 for more than an hour.
