Police officer involved in fatal crash in Newark, Del.

NEWARK, Del. -- A police officer was involved in a fatal accident in Newark, Delaware.

It happened just before 10 p.m. Friday.

Officials say a man was walking in the middle of Chestnut Hill Road near the Robscott turn, when he was struck by a police car.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation.
