Mother, son arrested on drug charges

MANCHESTER TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A mother and son from Ocean County are suspected of running a marijuana growing operation inside their home.

The suspects are 23-year-old Joseph Schweitzer and his 67-year-old mother Karen Schweitzer.

Authorities in Manchester Township raided their home Tuesday morning and reportedly found a marijuana distribution operation.

They seized equipment, as well as 2.5 pounds of pot and two long guns.

Joseph Schweitzer was charged with possession with intent to distribute. He's being held on $25,000 bail.

His mother was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia but was released.
