Gas leak contained, evacuations over in Hamilton Twp., Atlantic County

HAMILTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A gas leak has been contained and people are being allowed back into their homes after a gas main was struck on Tuesday morning in an Atlantic County neighborhood Tuesday morning.

It happened at the Mays Landing Village off Route 40 at Babcock Road in Hamilton Township.

Authorities say a couple dozen residents were evacuated from nearby homes as a precaution.

There are no reports of injuries.
