Philadelphia police captain involved in hit-and-run crash

PORT RICHMOND (WPVI) -- Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck the vehicle of a Philadelphia police captain in Port Richmond.

The incident occurred around 10:20 a.m. Thursday on the northbound lanes of I-95 near Allegheny Avenue.

Police say after hitting the captain's car, the striking vehicle fled the scene.

The captain was transported to Aria Health Torresdale Hosptial. He was treated and released.

The accident is under investigation.
