Dying woman tells police 'he killed me,' boyfriend charged

TOBYHANNA, Pa. -- Authorities say a woman who had been stabbed pointed the finger at her boyfriend before she died, saying "He killed me."

25-year-old Darren Morales of Coolbaugh Township is charged with criminal homicide in Thursday's death of 41-year-old Mahuanki Figueroa.

Authorities allege that Morales first told police that she picked up a kitchen knife during a fight and accidentally cut her own throat after he grabbed her.

But they said he later acknowledged that she told a neighbor trying to provide first aid that he was responsible.

Court documents indicate that Morales was being represented by the county public defender's office, which rang unanswered Saturday.
