HERMITAGE, Pa. (WPVI) -- A restaurant worker in northwestern Pennsylvania says she was fired because she left work early to get a mammogram.

Jamie Crytzer says she scheduled the test when she found a lump but there was a last-minute cancellation and she was able to be seen sooner.

She asked her manager at the Hickory Grille in Hermitage if she could leave work for an hour in the middle of her shift to grab that open appointment.

She says they felt she should have waited for her scheduled appointment the following week when they had coverage for her.

"She just said, you know, you're gonna do whatever you want, and this is job abandonment. She kept telling me that," said Crytzer.

When she showed up for work the next morning, she was told she had lost her job.

The good news is her tests came back negative and she's healthy.
