1 critically injured in Christiana collision

Delaware State Police are trying to figure out what caused a collision in Christiana.

CHRISTIANA, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police are trying to figure out what caused a collision in Christiana.

A lifted pickup truck crashed into a Nissan Altima around 8 p.m. Monday near the Route 1 overpass along Route 273.

The 24-year-old driver of the sedan had to be rescued. Firefighters used the "jaws of life" to free him. He was rushed to Christiana Hospital with critical injuries.

A female passenger in the car was also hurt, but not as seriously.

The truck driver refused medical treatment.
