TIOGA-NICETOWN (WPVI) -- Thirteen residents have been displaced after a house fire in Philadelphia's Tioga-Nicetown section early Monday morning.
The blaze broke out just before 5:00 a.m. on the 1700 block of West Erie Avenue.
Heavy flames were showing on the first floor of a house when firefighters arrived.
The fire quickly went to two alarms, but was placed under control within an hour.
The flames spread to adjoining homes and caused damage to four of them.
The Red Cross arrived to assist the residents by providing food, clothing and possible lodging if needed.
So far, there are no reports of any injuries.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
