Firefighters battle apartment blaze in North Philadelphia

Fire crews are investigating an early morning blaze in North Philadelphia.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Fire crews were on the scene of high rise apartment blaze in North Philadelphia Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out around 6:15 a.m. on the 2400 block of North 11th Street.

Smoke was showing from the second floor in a garbage chute area when crews arrived.

The building had to be evacuated, but there were no reports of injuries.

The fire was placed under control about an hour later.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
