READING, Pa. -- Authorities arrested a man for stealing an ambulance and leading police on a pursuit in Reading.

The emergency vehicle was stolen outside of the Abraham Lincoln Hotel at 5th and Washington just before 6:00 a.m. Saturday.

Medics left it running while treating a patient inside.

Police say 47-year-old Kevin Fountain drove off, leading officers on a 10 mile pursuit.

Investigators say it isn't the first time this has happened.

"That's the last vehicle that you think someone would steal but it's actually a second time in the city in recent time that an ambulance has been stolen," said Sgt. John Solecki, Reading Police.

A different Western Berks ambulance was stolen in March 2013.

As for Saturday's case, the ambulance was stopped after police laid down spikes in Exeter Township.

Fountain now faces a number of felony charges.
