What California Fires Look Like From Space

An incredible satellite photo released by NASA shows smoke from the California fires blanketing part of the state.



Taken in natural color from the Aqua satellite, the photo shows gray smoke appearing to move east, while actively burning areas are shown in red.



There are 23 fires raging statewide, according to The Associated Press, with 10,000 firefighters working to contain the blazes that have been fueled by hot, dry conditions in the state.
