Woman shot and killed in Kensington section of Philadelphia

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.

It happened at 1 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of East Hilton Street.

Officers arrived to find the 24-year-old victim shot in the chest.

She was rushed to Temple University Hospital, but doctors were not able to save her.

Police recovered the murder weapon at the scene.

They are working to determine who shot the woman and why.
