Judge lifts injunction ahead of Upper Merion Board of Supervisors vote on data center proposals
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- Residents in Montgomery County are once again gathering over proposed data center projects as debate over the developments continues.
The Upper Merion Board of Supervisors is meeting Thursday night amid ongoing legal and community opposition surrounding multiple proposed data centers.

On Wednesday, data center developer Brian O'Neill filed a lawsuit, seeking an extension related to the review of his data center applications. A judge granted the developer's request for an injunction, temporarily stopping Upper Merion any action on the applications.
The developer argued there was not enough time to respond to concerns raised by township officials and feared the projects could be denied before those responses were submitted.
However, on Thursday afternoon, a judge vacated the injunction, clearing the way for the Board of Supervisors meeting to proceed as scheduled.

Township officials are expected to consider extension requests related to multiple development proposals.
If approved, the review deadline would be pushed back to Sept. 30.
The proposals have drawn large crowds at public meetings and vocal opposition from residents who have raised concerns about noise, light pollution, water use and potential impacts on utility costs.
