The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate a woman wanted in an attempted robbery of a bank in Juniata Park.

JUNIATA PARK (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate a woman wanted in an attempted robbery of a bank in Juniata Park.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. Tuesday at the PNC Bank branch located on the 1000 block of East Erie Avenue.

Police say the woman entered the bank and showed a demand note to the teller. Soon after, she fled the bank empty-handed.

The suspect is described as a black or Hispanic woman in her late 30s to early 40s, about 5 feet tall, with a medium to heavy build, dark complexion and black hair worn in a bushy ponytail. She has a piercing above the right side of her upper lip, and was last seen wearing a bright pink, short-sleeve top, dark sunglasses and a black or brown cross-body purse.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

There is a reward for information leading to the suspect's capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
