THORNBURY TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Cyrus the horse has a new home.
The 18-year-old Clydesdale, and his best friend "Ghost", made the journey Saturday from Chester County to Virginia.
Cyrus was rescued from an auction eight weeks ago.
He was staying at Thornbury Farm when he got stuck in the mud.
Crews had to use a crane to free him.
Action News reporter Sarah Bloomquist was live on Facebook as the horse was freed:
Cyrus has had a rough life, but manager Penny Parker says he's going to a home where he will be happy and loved.
"They've just been such great people. Very supportive, very understanding and this whole thing has been a wonderful experience for me," said Parker.
Parkers says she loves Cyrus so this was a bitter-sweet experience for her.
