NETHER PROVIDENCE TWP, Pa. (WPVI) -- One person is dead and another injured after a crash in Delaware County involving an SUV and a box truck.

It happened around 11:45 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Chester Road at Providence Road in Nether Providence Township.

Police say the SUV rear-ended the box truck.

The view from Chopper 6 showed the box truck stopped at the intersection, with part of the SUV wedged under the back.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the SUV was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the box truck was not injured.

The name of the SUV driver is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.

The accident is being investigated by the Nether Providence Police Department, The Delaware County District Attorney's Office, the Delaware County Accident Investigation Team and the Delaware County Medical Examiner's Office.
