According to a report posted Wednesday, The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden's baby black rhinoceros is active, healthy and nursing well.
The baby rhino, named Kendi, was born on Monday after mom Seyia's 15-month gestation period. Kendi is the fifth eastern black rhino born in North America in the last two years.
Kendi's gender has yet to be confirmed.
Fewer than 5,000 black rhinos remain in the world, and about 60 of them are managed in North American zoos.
