SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- From the way tailgating Eagles fans were dressed Sunday you'd think it was preseason.
The weather was not what most expected from a mid-December tailgate party.
"This is great. Shorts, nice sunny day," said Mike Prokapus of Winslow Township, New Jersey. "Got the suntan lotion out today."
"It's ridiculous," said Vinnie Dean of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania. "December 13th, 70 degrees out, T-shirt weather. Love it. Can't beat it."
With record-warmth temperatures, Eagles fans weren't the only ones who took the opportunity to soak up the sun.
We found folks eating outside in Old City, and families hitting the playground at Franklin Square.
Alyssa Fox started feeling better just in time to enjoy the touch of spring with her dad.
"We call it 'global weirding' instead of global warming," said Rick Fox of University City. "Hanukkah isn't usually this warm, not even in Jerusalem,"
"It's kind of weird, but I like it," said Byron Gonzalez of Northeast Philadelphia.
For kids at the playground who seem to have spring fever, the bizarre warm-up was a little bit perplexing.
