Underground explosion reported in Feltonville
Witnesses said manhole covers were lifted as a result of the blast as reported during Action News at 11 on January 22, 2019..

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Firefighters are on the scene of a reported underground explosion in Feltonville Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 5:10 p.m. near the intersection of 5th Street and Wyoming Avenue.

Officials said an underground transformer exploded, causing manhole covers to be lifted as a result of the blast.

There are no reports of injuries.

Roadways in the immediate area were blocked to allow fire crews to access the area.
