Officer injured in crash in Northeast Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A police officer and a civilian are hospitalized after an accident in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on the 10000 block of Decatur Road.

The crash involved a police van and another vehicle.

Medics took the officer to Aria Health Torresdale Hospital for injuries. He is expected to be treated and released.

Authorities say a civilian in the other vehicle complained of pain and was also taken to the hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
