Crime Fighters: Who killed Anthony Molina?

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A night out ended with a tragic loss for a family from Southwest Philadelphia.

Oswaldo Molina says his life changed forever on Friday April 22, 2016, when his fun-loving brother Anthony was gunned down.

"The family and me, we are still wondering what caused this," Oswaldo said.

The night started normally, with the 25-year-old Anthony and his fiancee going out for dinner.

Just before 9:30 that night, the couple returned home along 84th Street and Lindbergh Boulevards.

"He was parking the car. Supposedly there was this guy sitting down near his apartment complex," said Oswaldo.

Then, he says, the unthinkable happened.

"The guy got up, supposedly, and when my brother got out of the car to throw out some trash the guy just started shooting."

Anthony was hit multiple times and died at the scene.

"You're telling me there was no one out there, nobody heard anything? Nobody seen anything? It doesn't make any sense," Oswaldo said.

He doesn't want his brother to just be another sad statistic.

"I know the cops have a lot on their plate. My thing is, I don't want my brother to be just a photo, you know, in their filing cabinet and being forgotten," Oswaldo said.

The City of Philadelphia is offering up to $20,000 in reward money for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

All you have to do is call the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS.

All calls will remain anonymous.
