1 dead in Sussex County, Delaware house explosion

DAGSBORO, Del. (WPVI) -- One person was killed in a home explosion Tuesday morning in Sussex County, Delaware.

It happened around 7 a.m. in the town of Dagsboro, located about 10 miles west of Bethany Beach.

Emergency responders arrived to find a single-family home with heavy structural damage. Officials said the house was occupied at the time of the explosion. One resident was rescued, but another was trapped inside and died.

The victim has not yet been identified.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the blast.
