The victim may be juvenile boy, the police chief told Action News
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- One person is dead and a person of interest is in custody after a shooting on Wednesday night in Norristown. The police chief has told Action News that the victim may be a juvenile boy.
The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 500 block of West Marshall Street, near George Street.
Authorities said the victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, and later was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the scene is in a residential area with many cameras that they believe will help them piece together what happened.
The police chief also said some video of the incident has been seen circulating on social media and is asking people to please stop sharing it.
Police says this was not random and that the victim and person of interest were known to each other, adding that this may have stemmed from some type of altercation.
However, police have not released details about what led up to the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing, and it's still unclear if any arrests were made.
