PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Enforcement begins Friday for red light cameras at a busy intersection in Southwest Philadelphia.
Any driver caught running red lights at 58th Street and Baltimore Avenue will now face a $100 fine.
The extended warning period officially ended on February 26.
The Philadelphia Parking Authority currently has 160 red light cameras installed at 38 locations across the city.
The PPA says its automated red light camera program has reduced red light running at key intersections by more than half.
In fiscal year 2024, tickets generated $23 million dollars for the PennDOT Transportation Enhancements Grant Program, according to the PPA.
