2 more teens charged with attempted murder in Wilmington fireworks incident

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Wilmington police have charged two additional teenagers in connection with an incident in which a sleeping man was critically injured by fireworks.

The incident happened on July 3 near 9th and Pine streets.

According to investigators, a man was sleeping on a porch stoop when a group of young teens repeatedly fired Roman candle fireworks at one another and at the man.

Police initially charged a 13-year-old boy with attempted murder.

Authorities have now announced charges against another 13-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy. Both face attempted murder charges in connection with the incident.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, suffered critical injuries, police said.
