4 cases of West Nile virus under investigation in New Jersey, including in child

The state of New Jersey has reported its first human cases of the West Nile Virus this year.

A child tested positive for the mosquito-borne virus in Atlantic County, with symptoms reported during the third week of July.

An adult in Middlesex County also tested positive during the first week of August.

Four suspected cases are under investigation.

Officials note the importance of getting rid of standing water around your home, where mosquitoes often breed.
