West Nile virus detected in mosquitos in Montco, health officials say
Health officials in Montgomery County say West Nile Virus has been detected in Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania.

LOWER MERION, Pa. (WPVI) -- Health officials in Montgomery County say West Nile Virus has been detected in Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania.

Officials say they collected a sample of mosquitoes there last Thursday that tested positive.

Residents can protect themselves by removing standing water and avoiding outdoor activities from dusk to dawn, which is when mosquitoes are the most active.
