Atlantic City Electric cited for overbilling, improper tax-write-offs in federal audit
Customers of Atlantic City Electric could be getting some money back.
A federal audit found instances of over-billing and improper tax write-offs from 2021 to 2025.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission made nearly two dozen recommendations in response to five areas of non-compliance, with action needed on two of them.

Republican Congressman Jeff Van Drew is urging refunds, along with resignations at the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
Action News reached out to Atlantic City Electric, which sent out a statement saying that the audit did not conclude the company violated federal tax law and did not specify any amounts of customer overbilling.
They also said they are working on implementing the recommendations.
