4 hospitalized after reports of shots fired in Chester

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Four people were taken to the hospital on Wednesday night after reports of gunfire in Chester.

Chopper 6 was over the large police presence around 11 p.m. in the parking lot of a business along the 1500 block of Providence Street.

Investigators said police were initially called to the area after multiple 911 reports of shots being fired.

Authorities have not confirmed whether any of the victims were struck by gunfire, but said four people were transported to area hospitals with unknown injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
