PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- One man is dead and another man was injured after a shootout in North Philadelphia.

Police say this happened outside the Richard Allen Homes just before midnight on Wednesday in the 800 block of West Reno Place.

When police arrived, officers found a 24-year-old man in the rear of a Buick sedan with gunshot wounds to his back. He was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A30-year-old man was then found in the 900 block of Parrish Street with a gunshot wound to the lower leg. He is expected to survive.

Detectives described the crime scene as expansive, saying nearly 60 shell casings from two different weapons were found about a block apart.

No arrests have been made, and no weapon has been recovered.

Investigators hope doorbell surveillance video will help track down the gunmen.
