9-year-old boy dies after drowning incident at hotel pool in Pocono Township
POCONO TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A 9-year-old boy has died after a drowning incident at a hotel pool in Pocono Township.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in the hotel pool at the Days Inn by Wyndham on Hill Motor Lodge Road in Monroe County.
The child was rescued from the pool and life-saving measures were performed by bystanders and emergency responders before he was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, according to the coroner's office.
The child then died on Tuesday, according to officials.
His death was ruled an accident from complication of drowning, according to the coroner.
The child's name has not been released out of respect for the family, officials said.
The investigation into the incident remains active.
