Amma's South Indian Cuisine adds new location for authentic dishes of the region

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (WPVI) -- Longtime friends and South Indian natives, Sathish Varadhan and Balakrishnan Duraisamy, are the owners behind Amma's South Indian Cuisine.

Before they opened their first restaurant in 2016, they were working on degrees in hospitaiity and say they longed for a taste of home but could not find it here. So they created what they wanted, starting with one location in Voorhees, New Jersey. Now there are also locations in Center City, University City, and Maple Shade, New Jersey.

The Mount Laurel location is the first Amma's to have a tandoori oven, and the only location that features a buffet that offers a weekday version and a Grand Buffet on weekends.
