
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Bryce Harper announced Thursday night that he will participate in the Home Run Derby at Citizens Bank Park.
The Phillies slugger announced on Instagram, writing, "Derby at home? Sure why not? #HRD."
Harper will compete in front of a home crowd when the event takes place Monday night in Philadelphia.

Five other players have confirmed they will be taking part, including Cardinals OF Jordan Walker, Boston's Willson Contreras, Kansas City's Jac Caglianone, Tampa Bay's Junior Caminero and the New York Yankees' Ben Rice.
Harper won the 2018 Derby and is bidding to become the fifth player with multiple Derby crowns.
According to the MLB, this will mark the 28th appearance by a slugger in his home ballpark.
